Help stop foreign intelligence activities – contact us

Foreign intelligence services have a vast number of tools at their disposal, which they use in Germany to illicitly gather information. Clandestine and covert activities can include cyber-attacks and espionage activities, but foreign services also approach certain individuals for intelligence gathering efforts.

Whilst contact may seem casual and unspectacular, foreign agents may also use more robust methods to gain information or entice cooperation. Applying pressure, blackmail and threatening use of force are methods that can come into play. Especially individuals that have fled to Germany to escape oppressive systems in their home countries, can fall victim to these intimidation attempts.

The Bundesamt für Verfassungsschutz (BfV) has installed a hotline, where individuals can confidentially report threats from foreign intelligence services or any espionage activities they have witnessed.

The information provided can be of great importance and may save lives.

Our hotline is a tool that helps us to fulfil our tasks as a domestic intelligence service. Please do not misuse it to denounce fellow citizens.
