The Bundesamt für Verfassungsschutz (BfV) together with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), National Security Agency (NSA) and further international partners have released a Joint Cybersecurity Advisory (JCSA) on malicious cyber activities targeting U.S. and global critical infrastructure.

The cyber actors, assessed to be affiliated with the Russian General Staff Main Intelligence Directorate (GRU) 161st Specialist Training Center (Unit 29155), are held responsible for computer network operations against global targets for the purposes of espionage, sabotage, and reputational harm. The published JCSA provides tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) associated with Unit 29155 cyber actors as well as further analysis of malware used.

BfV and international partners remain committed to protecting freedom and democracy from foreign interference, cyber attacks and malicious actors.
